Why Choose Us?
Established in 1992, Bournemouth Montessori Centre (BMC) is a leading provider of Montessori teacher training. We offer an affordable, well-rounded, college-based course leading to a Montessori Diploma (Birth to Six Years) (Level 4), which includes the Early Years Educator (Level 3) qualification.
As a small and friendly centre, we take pride in our strong academic success, led by highly experienced Montessori trainers. Our Academic Director, Martha Mason, established our courses over 30 years ago after gaining the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), originally established by Dr Montessori.
Our mission is to train authentic Montessori teachers who develop a deep understanding of the Montessori Method and its practice. Whether working in Montessori schools, nurseries, or other early years settings, our graduates leave with the confidence, skills, and knowledge to make a real difference in children's lives.
At BMC, we offer a supportive, small-group learning experience, ensuring that each student receives individual attention. Our approach helps students become confident, competent, and professional Montessori educators.
We welcome applicants of all ages from 16 years upwards. There are a high percentage of mature students who come to BMC from other professions to retrain. The diversity of both age and background of the students enriches the learning environment.
Past students have become Montessori teachers; started Montessori schools of their own; gone abroad to teach; gone abroad to nanny; become nannies in the UK; have volunteered in third world countries or put their Montessori knowledge to good use in their chosen profession.
